From Congressional Resolutions to Canadian Plaintiffs

Dear friends,

We are writing to you today to invite you to another exciting event this week!

On September 24, from 4-5 p.m. PDT / 7-8 p.m. EDT, we’ll be hosting an online briefing with our partners the David Suzuki Foundation and the Pacific Centre for Environmental Law and Litigation (CELL) to discuss our constitutional climate change case La Rose et al v. Her Majesty the Queen. This case was filed by 15 young Canadians from seven provinces and one territory on October 25, 2019. In their complaint, the plaintiffs argue that they are being harmed by climate change and that the federal government is violating their rights to life, liberty, and security of person.

During this event, you’ll have the chance to hear from some of the 15 young plaintiffs, and their attorneys, as they discuss why they decided to join the case, what a victory would look like to them, and much more! You’ll also learn about their upcoming virtual hearing, scheduled for next week on September 30th and October 1st.

Join this LIVE online briefing and show these brave youth plaintiffs that you stand with them in solidarity! RSVP here: http://bit.ly/LaRose092420

Thanks for your support,
The team at Our Children's Trust

P.S. Don’t forget to also join us at our virtual press conference TOMORROW at 9:00 am PDT / 12:00 pm EDT to formally introduce the Children’s Fundamental Rights and Climate Recovery Resolution! You’ll hear from Juliana v. United States youth plaintiffs Vic Barrett, Isaac Vergun, Levi Draheim and Avery M. and several Members of Congress about why they are excited to support this resolution. Register today for this online event HERE: http://bit.ly/StandwithJuliana!
