Mitch McConnell and Donald Trump are already declaring victory: They’ve counted us out, declaring that Trump will get to nominate a third Supreme Court justice in the wake of Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s death. And now, Trump has announced he’ll be nominating a new, anti-choice justice on Saturday.

Here’s what we say: think again.

No matter who your senators are, we need you to do something right now: Send a message demanding that they don’t consider a new Supreme Court nominee until after Inauguration Day.

We need you to step up, John. Even if your senator is a deep-red Republican. Even if your senator is a stalwart progressive, an independent, or you’re not sure what their position is.

Every single one of our senators needs to hear from each and every one of us.

Democrats need to be told how hard we expect them to fight this disgusting Republican power-grab.

Republicans need to know how much their appalling hypocrisy and disregard for our democracy will cost them in November.

Send a message to your senators now and demand that there is no vote to confirm a new Supreme Court Justice until after Inauguration Day.

Trump’s shortlist of potential nominees is downright dangerous: a whos-who of anti-choice ideologues ready and willing to dismantle our fundamental freedoms at the first chance they get.

And you can bet that if they’re able to cement a supermajority on the Court, we can kiss Roe v. Wade, voting rights, LGBTQ+ rights, and the Affordable Care Act goodbye.

That’s why we need a massive show of force right now.

Trump and McConnell only want one thing: power. But in their reckless pursuit of authoritarianism and control, they’ve forgotten who really holds the power in this country.

It’s us. And the Supreme Court is OUR court — the People’s court.

Our voices must be heard. Send a message and demand that there is no consideration of a new Supreme Court Justice until after Inauguration Day.
