Team,

Last Friday, we lost an American hero, Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg. Before she took her place as the second woman in history to serve on the Supreme Court, Justice Ginsburg led a storied career fighting for justice through her work with the ACLU and her time on the DC Court of Appeals.

With unmatched grit and grace, Justice Ginsburg assumed her role on the Supreme Court, where she spent nearly three decades as the leading voice for equality, fairness, and justice. Her dissents in landmark cases pertaining to equal pay, voting rights, and women's health paved the way for the rights American women freely exercise today. She was respected by her colleagues and modeled her belief in decency and collegiality, even when engaging in the most impassioned debates.

With her passing, we are all reminded of what she accomplished, what’s at stake and why we vote: Healthcare coverage for people with pre-existing conditions, climate change, maintaining a woman’s right to choose her health care, reducing the influence of dark money in politics, equality for our LGBTQ+ community and so much more. Justice Ginsburg spent her entire life fighting for what she believed in and to honor her memory, we must commit to showing up at the polls this November.

With just six weeks left, there are a few critical steps you should take to ensure you are ready to cast a ballot!

Today is National Voter Registration Day, so there is no better time to ensure you have a plan to make your voice heard. ⤵️

Once you have double checked your voter registration, make sure to take a minute to figure out how and where you will be voting this year. Massachusetts allows each and every one of us to vote-by-mail, but you can also vote early or on Election Day itself.

Justice Ginsburg made incredible progress on so many issues during her lifetime.

We have the opportunity to keep the momentum of her work going strong. Your vote is your voice, and voting is one of the most important civic duties.

This is the most important election of our lifetimes and no one can afford to sit this one out.

Let’s go!

– Team Trahan
