This month marks the first anniversary of the historic United Nations report that surveyed and condemned antisemitism worldwide. Its author, Dr. Ahmed Shaheed, the UN Special Rapporteur on Freedom of Religion or Belief, called antisemitism "toxic to democracy," recommended that all member states adopt the IHRA Working Definition of Antisemitism, and urged the UN Secretary-General to designate a high-level official to ensure the UN responds to combat antisemitism. What progress has been made in the past 12 months? What further actions are essential to tackle persistent antisemitic violence and rhetoric in the year to come? Join us for a conversation with Dr. Shaheed as he answers these questions and more.
Kindly email questions to [email protected].
This AJC Advocacy Anywhere opportunity will be recorded for playback.
