If the latest developments with the Supreme Court have shown us anything, it is that Democrats absolutely must regain a majority in the Senate.

Bernie is supporting two excellent Senate candidates — Marquita Bradshaw and Paula Jean Swearengin — who are running for Republican-held seats and are going to need our whole movement behind them in order to win.

Here is the truth:

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell has aggressively moved Trump's judicial nominees through the Senate, packing the federal courts with conservative judges who will defend corporations at the expense of the working class and will continue allowing the rich and the powerful to buy our elections. And now if McConnell fast tracks Trump's Supreme Court nominee, everything we care about will be on the line.

Marquita Bradshaw and Paula Jean Swearengin can help Democrats win back the Senate, and both of them will be strong advocates for our progressive agenda in Congress.

That is why we are asking you directly:

Marquita Bradshaw is running on a platform of Medicare for All, a Green New Deal, raising the minimum wage to $15 an hour, and overturning Citizens United. There is no question that Marquita would be an incredible fighter for justice in the Senate. After winning a stunning upset primary victory, she is now counting on our support during these final weeks before the election.

Paula Jean Swearengin is the daughter and granddaughter of coal miners with a deep understanding of the struggle so many West Virginia families find themselves in today. If we elect a strong progressive like her in a state with one of the highest poverty rates in the nation, it would be a significant moment in our fight to transform our country to make it work for all of us.

If we are going to continue building a political revolution to transform this country, we must be prepared to support candidates who are ready to fight for our progressive agenda.

Our country is in the midst of a series of very serious crises — we are experiencing the horrific effects of climate change, a global pandemic, an economic meltdown, the fight for racial justice, and a president who is a pathological liar. And we are quickly approaching an election that will decide the very future of our democracy, as well as the future of the Supreme Court.

In less than six weeks, we have the chance to regain a Democratic majority in the Senate and elect the most progressive Congress this country has ever seen. And if we send these two great candidates to join Bernie in the Senate, it will be a huge step forward for our movement.
