It’s National Voter Registration Day — check your voter registration now so we can defeat Trump and elect real leaders who will fight climate change.

Dear NRDC Activist,

Our nation has lost a force for justice, a relentless defender of democracy, with the passing of Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg.

And just when you thought the stakes couldn't get any higher in this election, our foundational environmental laws, including the Clean Air Act and Clear Water Act, could be in even greater jeopardy.

Senate Republicans are trying to force through a vote to confirm a new Supreme Court nominee before the end of Trump's term, even though the election has already begun — many voters across America have already cast ballots by mail or are waiting in lines at polling places in early voting states.

We're calling on the Senate to delay that vote until the next president is in office — and we need every single pro-environment voter to cast their ballot to make sure that president is not Donald Trump.

Today is National Voter Registration Day, so please take just two minutes to make sure you're registered to vote. Even if you think you're registered, check again!

Making sure you're registered to vote is more important than ever. The fate of the Supreme Court, justice, and our values are hanging in the balance. We're experiencing unprecedented, devastating fires in the western United States and extreme storms in the Midwest and Southeast ... and COVID-19 is still threatening our health and causing widespread disruptions to our election process.

And the Trump administration and its allies in Congress are doing everything they can to make voting difficult — especially in Black and Brown communities that are disproportionately affected by climate change and health-harming pollution.

So we're asking everyone to double-check, even triple-check, your registration status today:

Checking your registration takes just two minutes, and it's important so you can vote safely, securely, and as soon as possible. Two minutes now means making sure that your mail-in ballot is coming to the right address, or that you can head to your polling place as soon as early voting starts in your state.

And if you do need to update your registration or request a mail-in ballot, you can do it with time to spare.

Our health, our climate, and our democracy all depend on your vote to defeat Trump this year. And now, so does the fate of our country's highest court, our last line of defense.

In his four years as president, Donald Trump has not only denied climate change, but taken every opportunity to make it worse, even while wildfires, extreme heat, and hurricanes cause increasing harm to our communities.

We MUST fight for a president and a judicial system that will protect our ability to cut climate pollution, safeguard our air and water, and stand up for people's health.

That's what's at stake, and we only have 42 more days to make it happen.

Make sure you're registered to vote using our easy tool, and then forward this email to three people and ask them to confirm their registrations, too.

Right now, Trump is losing this election — he's down in the polls, the climate crisis is raging, and he knows that if every eligible pro-environment voter turns out, he simply doesn't have the numbers to beat Joe Biden and Kamala Harris.

The only way he can stay in power is to depress turnout by casting doubt on the voting process itself.

That's why he's refused to fully fund the U.S. Postal Service in a year when more people will be voting by mail than ever before, and why the Republican Party is dumping millions of dollars into voter suppression efforts.

And it's also why Senate Republicans are trying to force through a new Supreme Court justice. So we MUST register, turn out in record numbers, and demand every vote is counted.

Please check your registration now — and spread the word to friends, family, and anyone else in your life who might need an extra nudge to get to the polls. Every single vote counts.

Thank you for doing your part, so we can win in November.

Sincerely,
Gina
