CHECK OUT OUR NEW LOOK
We've been working behind the scenes to give MCN a fresh new look and feel. Check out our new website and most of all, the stories that we want to share with you on how we've made an impact in the community.

In the past month, we've been gearing up for the upcoming elections and have been working hard to get our communities registered to vote. Remember, the deadline to register is October 9th!
We also want to share with you a report from our summer activities with you. Check out the report a little further below. Altogether, we held two virtual social justice book clubs; enlisted three youth ambassadors for our #MillionMuslimsVotes campaign; we held weekly youth interfaith cafe hours with our partners are Civic Spirit, and we held a series of webinars on topics ranging from college access during COVID, racism, and the Uyghur crisis, all topics initiated by our youth.
We have also been serious about getting our communities tested for COVID-19 as part of NYC's Test & Track program. The City is offering priority COVID testing for NYC Students and Teachers. To find a site, please go to: http://nyc.gov/doetest
*NEW Test & Trace Hotline, a one-stop source for all things Test & Trace. Available from 9:00am - 9:00pm every day. Just dial 212-COVID19 (212-268-4319).
By giving out information and masks, we're ensuring that our communities have the information they need to lead healthy and safe lives.
Finally, we held a Queens Muslim Virtual Townhall on September 15th, 2020 which was initiated by our youth leaders at the Al-Mamoor Islamic School in Fresh Meadows, Queens. We were able to learn more about the offices of State Assemblyman Ron Kim, Public Advocate Jumaane Williams, and Queens District Attorney Melinda Katz. Be sure to check out the whole program on our Facebook page
One of the many concerns we've received through our COVID-19 Hotline has been rental assistance. MCN put together a webinar on how tenants in New York City can find rental assistance to help them maintain their housing stability. Check out the video here.
As usual, we're continuing to run our MCN COVID-19 Hotline. We get calls every week for support and assistance. With your help, we can make sure that Muslim New Yorkers and their neighbors have their needs met at this unprecedented time. We're hearing stories of families who, even though have returned to work, the works hours are reduced or they have only a one-income household instead of two, which is still making it hard for families to get by. Please donate with your best capacity to ensure that we can send funds to these families.
With Gratitude,
Aniqa Nawabi
Executive Director
