CLCV Member,

Like you, I was heartbroken to learn of the passing of Justice Ruth Bader
Ginsburg, champion for civil rights, gender equity, and progressive
causes. She did so much to make our country a better place.

The world feels a little darker with leaders like RBG gone. I felt the
same way when Representative John Lewis passed away earlier this year. We
are losing fierce changemakers who stood up for what was right and changed
our reality.

But then I remember the courageous and powerful leadership of young people
in this moment- young people who are changing the game and transforming
what we believe is possible. There’s a new, phenomenal generation of young
people working to take back our political system and our future, and it’s
our job to put them in as many positions of power as possible.

We have an immediate and urgent opportunity to change our reality and put
the pain and uncertainty we are feeling into action, because today is
National Voter Registration Day. Today is an opportunity to take action,
even small action, to honor the legacy of Justice Ginsburg and
Representative Lewis:

* [ [link removed] ]Make sure you’re registered to vote, and have your information up
to date. If you’ve moved recently, take a minute to make sure your
address is correct so that you receive your vote-by-mail ballot.
* Commit to talking to three of your family members or friends. Make
sure they are registered and aware that all California voters will
receive a vote-by-mail ballot at home and know about all the ways
[ [link removed] ]available this year to vote.
* When you get your ballot, honor the legacy and work of Justice
Ginsburg and Representative Lewis by voting all the way down the
ballot. [ [link removed] ]We know change happens from the bottom up, and local and
state races are the foundation for that.

CLCV Member, cast your vote and join us in standing for climate
justice and the solutions and change we know are available. Cast your vote
for a world that will be better and brighter, and believe it is possible.

Let their memories be a revolution.

In Solidarity,

We believe that radical change is necessary and only by transforming our political system will we create the opportunity to take bold action on climate change. We elect and cultivate environmental champions, turn election victories into policy wins, hold our lawmakers accountable, and build political power for change. We inspire hope and action and fight for equity and justice for all Californians. We are in the business of changing what’s possible.
