Ms. Foundation for Women

Hi John,

On Friday evening, we experienced a colossal loss with the passing of Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, an undeniable feminist legend.

RBG was the conscience of the court and saw in the constitution the promise of a country yet to be reached by so many. Her steadfast commitment and brilliance helped pave the way for all of us to do better and demand better. While Justice Ginsburg’s presence will be missed for generations to come, she paved the way for many of us to carry the baton forward in the fight for equality. Watch Teresa C. Younger speak on the formidable legacy of Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg.

In a time of collective grief, we can come together to find our strength and continue her lifelong fight for gender equity.

Rest in peace, RBG, and thank you for your fight.

As we figure out how to move forward in the face of immeasurable hardship, here’s dose of joy to help center us in the movement. Teresa C. Younger recently sat down with the incredible Bianca Lawson to discuss the importance of women of color leadership and why we should invest in them today. You can watch their inspiring conversation here.

September 15 marked the first day of Hispanic Heritage Month. Over the next few weeks, we’ll be highlighting Latinx leaders who have shaped the past and those shaping our future. Follow us on social media as we share their names, stories, and impact.

Last Wednesday, Raquel Willis, our Director of Communications, had a conversation with the one and only Stacey Abrams on race, gender, and electoral equity. ELECTORAL POWER was the third event in Women + Power: 100 Years After the 19th Amendment, which looks at the relationship between gender, power, and the ongoing work toward equality in the century since a landmark movement. Join us next week for CAREGIVING POWER!

On the 57th Anniversary of the 16th Street Church bombing in Birmingham, AL, that killed four young Black girls, we called for greater investment in the lives and well-being of Black girls and women. Black girls deserve to have joy, be safe and free, and grow up healthy and thriving. Now, were're calling for #1Billion4BlackGirls over the next ten years so Black girls can thrive. Join us, the Black Girl Freedom Fund and other partners at 1Billlion4BlackGirls.org
