"If someone had been there for me, my story would have ended differently."

"To remove people from being present outside clinics, it just isolates women who are having a crisis all the more. That might have been the only opportunity they had to speak to anybody who would have offered them real counselling - and that is the last step before it's too late."

Dear SPUC supporter,

Please watch Amy’s story. At 18 Amy was assaulted by an ex-boyfriend and became pregnant. She went on to have an abortion. Amy is one of thousands of reasons why we must make our voices heard to defend the right to save lives outside abortion clinics.

Women like Amy need pro-life people to help them at the most desperate moment of their lives – when they walk into an abortion clinic. If a loving pro-life person is not there for a woman, right by the entrance of the clinic, no one else is going to help save her unborn baby’s life. And that’s what happened to Amy.

Save the Right to Save Lives

The pro-abortion lobby in Parliament is determined to outlaw peaceful, pro-life vigils by enforcing buffer zones around abortion clinics.

As we told you two weeks ago, Rupa Huq MP is making yet another attempt to introduce buffer zones. The Second Reading of her Ten-Minute Rule Bill “to restrict demonstrations in the vicinity of abortion clinics”, comes up this Friday, 25 September.

Although we do not expect Rupa Huq's Bill to make any progress in Parliament after 25 September, we need to make our voices heard now to help stop further attempts to introduce buffer zones.

Sarah Olney MP is also introducing a bill similar to Rupa Huq’s on 30 October. So we are looking for a really massive response to our petition so that we can present thousands of signatures to the Home Secretary in Westminster and to the Scottish Justice Secretary, on 30 October 2020.

If you haven’t already done so, please sign the petition. And please forward this email, with Amy’s story, to others.

With every good wish and heartfelt thanks for your support,

Antonia Tully
Director of Campaigns
