On the fourth Tuesday of every September, this unique holiday is meant to bring awareness and attention to the importance of voting.

Voter turnout is so important in each and every election because it is the only way to have a functioning democracy. We need voters to participate by exercising their right to vote, so that our country's leadership reflects the true will of the people. And every single vote counts.

This year, we are facing one of the most important elections of our lifetime. It's going to be a historic election, and we're facing unprecedented challenges in terms of voting obstacles and voter suppression -- it's more critical than ever that we fight hard to make sure our voices are all heard.
