Hi John,
For generations, women of color have fought for the right to vote and make our voices heard. In 2020, we're carrying that legacy to not only ensure we vote freely, but that our votes usher in a future where every person can live with dignity and respect.
But there are people going out of their way to stop you from voting -- and we can help.
We've created a Voter Education Hub that will connect you to the information you need to safely vote this Election Day.
Today is National Voter Registration Day, a day of action to ensure everyone has the opportunity to vote. Every election, millions of Americans are unable to vote because they miss a voter registration deadline or don't know how to register. Others are unable to vote because they don't realize they needed to update their voter registration after moving. And every year, the number of people who are purged from voter rolls for any number of reasons increases.
Each state makes its own voting and election rules, including how to update your voter registration, so it's important that you visit our Voter Hub NOW to check your status and ensure that you can vote in November.
If you find that your voter registration is in order, great! Remind your friends and family to check their registration status, too. Then, help them register to vote. And remember, even if you can't vote, the policy decisions elected officials make still affect you. Getting involved doesn't always mean casting a ballot at the polls -- you can make an enormous impact by encouraging your community to check their registration status to protect their vote.
Voting is one of our most important rights as citizens of this country and is a first step towards determining the laws and policies that will affect domestic workers, caregivers, women of color, and immigrants for years to come. But you can't vote if you aren't registered. Check your voter registration status today.
In solidarity,
