When DACA arrived at the Supreme Court, Ruth Bader Ginsburg joined the majority 5-4 decision rejecting Trump’s attacks on Dreamers. This weekend, we lost a steadfast ally. With a new court vacancy, the future of DACA and immigration policy hangs in the balance. But we don’t have time to despair—it’s time to take action.

In New York, voter turnout is well below the national average and registration numbers are at an all time low—if we don’t vote now, we risk not just another 4 years of anti-immigrant court packing and sweeping xenophobic policies; we risk DECADES of legal progress in the fight for immigrants’ rights across the country.

Voting is one of the most important things you can do to contribute to the immigrant justice movement—we're here to provide some info about how you can vote in New York. (Already registered and ready to cast your ballot? Help us get out the vote! ([link removed]) )

DEADLINES FOR MAILING BACK YOUR COMPLETED BALLOT
Completed ballots must be postmarked or delivered in person by November 3, 2020 (Election Day). Completed ballots can be dropped off at your county/borough board of elections ([link removed]) or ANY poll site. Early voting sites will operate October 24 - November 1 and will also serve as ballot drop off sites.

If you’re concerned about voting during a pandemic, we hear you. Voting by mail is a safe, secure, and convenient way to cast your ballot and make your voice heard. You can vote from the comfort of your home, avoid long lines at the polls, and better protect yourself from COVID-19 exposure.

Don't wait to request your ballot. A record number of absentee ballots are being requested and the longer you wait, the greater the risk you won’t receive yours in time. Once you receive it, fill it out and mail it back ASAP to make sure your vote is counted.

After you’ve requested your ballot, the next step is getting out the vote. We’ll be hosting weekly text and phone drives to contact community members and provide voter registration and participation assistance up until Election Day. Sign up ([link removed]) to help increase representation, overcome misinformation, and build immigrant power!
