John,

You may not know this, but my dad grew up in Hendersonville and went to what is now NC Central University. He was proud of his roots, and I’m proud to be “returning” — via video.

On October 7th, I hope you’ll join me for NCLCV’s virtual Green Tie Awards as we lay out what’s at stake for our environment and our climate on November 3rd.

My dad’s home state — your state — is at the epicenter of this election, with critical races from the White House to the state House to the governor’s mansion. North Carolinians are casting their ballots as we speak, and your future hangs in the balance.

That’s because North Carolina is also at the epicenter of our changing climate, with frontline communities facing historic flooding and extreme weather, coastal communities in the crosshairs of the Trump Administration’s push to drill off the coast, and toxic forever chemicals threatening our health.

If we want a government that protects people instead of polluters, we must re-elect Gov. Cooper. If we want a government that takes bold action to solve our climate crisis, I need Cal Cunningham to join me in the Senate. Both of them will be joining me October 7th, and I hope you will too, John.

I'll see you soon,

Cory Booker
