Today is National Voter Registration Day, and we have one message to everyone who cares about Black and Brown lives.
VOTE. By any means necessary.
This year, there are so many reasons to vote.
Vote to end state violence. Vote to combat injustice and systemic racism. Vote to fire sheriffs and judges who deny justice to Black & Brown communities when lives are lost due to racist policing. Let’s turn the momentum of the summer’s demonstrations, into power in the voting booth. The first step is registering to vote!
Advancement Project National Office is a proud partner and supporter of National Voter Registration Day and we need YOU (yes, YOU!) to take a few steps to prepare for the fall election.
- Register to Vote: It’s simple, it’s free, and it’s secure. Register at Vote.org. If you’ve registered to vote in the past, make sure you have not been purged from the voter rolls. Take 1 minute and check your registration status today. Once you register, forward this email to a friend and ask them to join you in registering to vote.
- Attend our National Voter Registration Day Event. Today, at 4:00 p.m. ET, we’re hosting an important Facebook Live conversation with the Hispanic National Bar Association, UnidosUS and the NALEO Educational Fund around how voters can best prepare for the 2020 election. We’ll discuss topics like how to register, how voters can craft a plan to vote, and why it’s important that Latinx voters turnout this fall. We’ll also provide several opportunities for people to connect with non-partisan Get Out The Vote efforts. Register to attend today!
- Explore our new voter education materials. Today, we’re also unveiling our “How to Vote,” voter education materials developed for six target states. Are you a voter in Arizona, Florida, Georgia, Michigan, Pennsylvania or Virginia? These documents detail critical voter registration deadlines, information on how to vote-by-mail, and how voters can vote early this fall.
- Spread the word on social media. #NationalVoterRegistrationDay and #VoteBAMN (Vote By Any Means Necessary) in all of your social media posts. Raise awareness on how people in your community can register to vote.
- Learn more about voter suppression by joining our Twitter Watch Party of All In: The Fight for Democracy, a new documentary featuring Stacey Abrams TONIGHT at 7:00 p.m. ET. Watch the film for free and tweet your reactions using: #AllInForVoting and #VoteBAMN.
We appreciate all the work of our allies and network to ensure we have a safe, free, fair and non-discriminatory election. Let’s bring it home to the ballot box this fall!
In Solidarity,
Advancement Project National Office Team
