This week, as we continue to mourn the passing of Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, we’re also doubling down in our commitment to fight as hard as we can to protect the Supreme Court.
Right now, Mitch McConnell and President Trump are planning to install another conservative justice to fill Justice Ginsburg’s seat -- even though McConnell blocked President Obama from appointing a justice in 2016, claiming that the Senate should not confirm justices during an election year.
All across the country, Democratic Senate candidates have the momentum. From their record breaking fundraising reports to recent competitive polls, these candidates are building a strong movement to flip red seats blue and take back the Senate from Mitch McConnell and the GOP.
We’re also doing everything we can to keep blue seats blue -- including right here in Illinois. We need to re-elect our Democratic Senate champions so they can keep fighting for our future.
Let’s be clear: the best way to stop the Republicans from packing the Supreme Court with far-right justices is by winning a Democratic Senate majority in November.
