In the past few weeks, we have witnessed a devastating and unprecedented wildfire crisis unfold on the West Coast, and the impacts are felt acutely here in CA-04. Right here in the Sierra Nevada foothills, the Creek Fire has already burned through over 250,000 acres. The Bulldog Fire, the Fork Fire, the Blue Jay Fire, and the Wolf Fire are all roaring through our district and are burning in our national forests. The smoke in the air is unavoidable, and the damage caused is massive.

At the front lines of these catastrophic natural disasters are our local heroes -- the thousands of firefighters who put their lives on the line to protect our communities. And we want to take a moment to thank them.
