I just got off the virtual debate stage and I hope I made you proud. Tonight’s debate took on extra weight since I got word that my opponent has gone up on TV claiming I’m too “radical” for Congress.

The hits were deep: accusing me of being an apologist for terrorism and extremism—which is an Islamophobic smear that cannot stand. I stayed focused on the issues and on YOU and how my opponent has failed to serve all of our community.

I’m not going to be distracted from what matters, which is the people of the First District having representation that stands up for them. Not for personal gain and not for protecting the wealthy and powerful.
