With just 43 days until November 3, and absentee and early voting already begun in many states, it's only reasonable that the winner of the presidential election should be the one to nominate a Supreme Court justice to fill Ruth Bader Ginsburg's seat. This next justice will be a critical deciding vote on rulings that could radically reshape access healthcare, abortion rights, voting rights, workers' rights, and so much more.

But John Katko doesn't want voters to have a say on their fundamental rights. Today, he said that he supports Donald Trump and Mitch McConnell's disgusting efforts to rush a vote on a new justice before Election Day.

The GOP is desperate to install a new justice who will undo the Affordable Care Act, overturn Roe v. Wade, gut voting rights, and protect corporate special interests at the expense of everyday Americans. They can't count on the electorate to support their backward policies at the ballot box, so they're rigging the game by stacking the Supreme Court and ignoring the will of the people.

John Katko's support of this is just the latest proof that his allegiance to Donald Trump matters more to him than serving the needs of his constituents. And we've had enough.
