Hello,

POLITICO: “Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell is locking down key votes from Republican senators in his bid to fill the Supreme Court vacancy created by Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s death.”

Republican Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell announced his bid to replace Justice Ginsburg’s seat less than 2 hours after the progressive leader’s death was confirmed -- going directly against his own 2016 precedent that “the American people should have a voice in the selection of their next Supreme Court Justice.”

Instead of giving Americans their rightful choice, Mitch McConnell and Republican senators are trying to push a Donald Trump SCOTUS nominee through a Senate vote with just 43 days left until the election.

In 2016, Republican senators refused to hold a vote for Barack Obama’s SCOTUS nominee during an election year. Now, Democrats are demanding Republicans honor their own words and the voice of the American people by letting the next president fill Justice Ginsburg’s seat. But Mitch McConnell is refusing to back down. With the future of our democracy at stake, our only option is to take back the Senate and demand Republicans listen to the will of American voters. We need you to stand with us now, and commit:
