The GOP plan to suppress the vote includes intimidating "inner city" folks and Native American communities.

Friend -- The GOP plan to suppress the vote this fall is rooted in racism.

A recent report revealed that the 50,000 poll "watchers" scheme by the GOP is meant to intimidate voters at the ballot box, specifically to suppress the vote in the "inner city" and Native American communities.

Last week, we set a goal of raising $50,000 to match the 50,000 poll "watchers." Our fundraising team crunched the numbers -- we almost reached the halfway mark of our goal, only $5,844 short!

If you're in a position to pitch in, will you help us raise the last $5,844 needed to hit the halfway mark ($25,000) of our mid-month goal? We're depending on our supporters for an extra push!

The fundraising team extended our mid-month deadline for the next 24 hours because we're committed to making sure everyone has a chance to vote, especially communities most vulnerable in society.

It's vital that our team has enough funds to power our election protection advocacy efforts.

With the news of this scheme's targeted impact on historically disadvantaged communities and areas, we must ramp up our efforts to protect the right to vote this fall -- for everyone.

Thanks for being a part of this,
-- Isa

72 hours to raise $50,000 »

Hi there -- We've told you that the Republican National Committee is spending $20 million on a scheme to suppress the vote. But the point that we probably should've stressed is that it involves hiring an intimidation force of 50,000 people to monitor polling stations.

This is the exact type of voter suppression tactic -- ahead of the last round of elections before redistricting -- that A.G. Holder warned about when he emailed you this month.

Too many politicians are out of step with their constituents and scared that they'll lose fair elections -- so they suppress votes and manipulate maps to protect their power."
-- A.G. Holder

As extreme politicians recruit 50,000 poll watchers to suppress the vote, we set a mid-month goal of raising $50,000 over the next three days to fight against their efforts to make it harder to vote. Will you help us end voter intimidation schemes like these that A.G. Holder warned us about?

The threat to hire 50,000 poll watchers is meant to intimidate voters and place more barriers in front of Americans who already face unprecedented challenges to casting their ballots.

Thankfully, the AOTL team is prepared for schemes like these -- and knows achieving fair maps will be a group effort.

In addition to fighting voter suppression schemes like these, we're supporting grassroots advocates on the ground and working tirelessly in our target states ahead of this fall and the 2021 redistricting cycle.

But our work requires resources -- and that's where you come in! Will you donate -- whatever makes sense to you -- to help us raise $50,000 before our mid-month deadline on Wednesday? We only have 72 hours to hit this fundraising goal!

The task of protecting our democracy right now is vitally important. And if we organize together, work together, and persevere together, we can restore our democracy to the people!
