John,
School is starting, and around 16 million kids—predominantly from communities of color, low-income households, and rural areas—don’t have Internet access and can’t take part in remote learning.1
Since the spring the Senate has failed to pass a coronavirus stimulus package. And the drafts they’ve shared don’t include funding for Internet access.
We can’t wait any longer. Congress needs to pass funding to get people online now.
Tell Congress to pass funding to make sure kids can keep learning.
TAKE ACTION
Kids are still sitting in parking lots to get wifi from restaurants and libraries.2 They’ve been doing this since March, and it isn’t acceptable.
This should be a completely uncontroversial, non-partisan issue because it impacts people everywhere. The Senate breaks for recess in three weeks, so we have very limited time to make this issue rise to the top and ensure funding is passed for Internet access.
Please sign this message and tell your members of Congress to prioritize getting everyone online now, so that students can keep learning, people can work, and everyone can stay safe.
Together for the Internet,
Caitlin at Fight for the Future
