Friday, we lost an icon of justice. In the last few days, many of you have reached out to ask "What now? What can I do?"

We fight. We work. We activate.

Less than an hour after the announcement of Justice Ginsburg's passing, Mitch McConnell declared his intention to hold a vote on whomever President Trump appoints.

The hypocrisy and utter absence of principle is as rank as it is unsurprising. People like McConnell and Lindsey Graham are illustrating that they have only one care: power. What horrifies me is the way they have and will use that power: to rip health care coverage from millions of Americans in the midst of a pandemic, to deny women control over their own bodies, to allow wanton pollution of our air and water.

Watch my speech from a rembrance event in Stamford for Justice RBG here.

Everything is at stake.

Joe Biden made it very clear: "The voters should pick a President, and that President should select a successor to Justice Ginsburg." That of course was the position of Mitch McConnell and the Republican Senate until Friday.

The most important thing we can do to protect Justice Ginsburg's legacy is elect Joe Biden President with a Senate Democratic majority, and to fight like hell so that together they appoint and confirm a Supreme Court nominee who believes in equal justice under the law.

We have 43 days from today to vote Trump out and vote Joe Biden in so he can appoint a justice who will uphold the rule of law and fight for all of us.

Sign up to help flip the Senate, take back the White House and keep our majority in the House today. Phonebanking, canvassing, texting, donating, writing postcards, registering people to vote. Sign up at JoeBiden.com or HimesforCongress.com. It matters. Remember that adversity did not dispirit RBG. It energized and motivated her. That is her legacy and one we must uphold.

Thank you for all you are doing,

Jim
