Starting today, climate activists and leaders around the world are coming together virtually for Climate Week! As the focus shifts to rebuilding from COVID-19 and the fires that continue to devastate the Amazon during this burning season, we are emphasizing Indigenous-led strategies to achieve climate justice.
Indigenous organizations and nonprofit allies will be hosting several events throughout Climate Week NYC and globally. As our world confronts multiple tragedies caused by climate change, we believe that by coming together in this moment and demanding action we can sweep in the changes necessary for a just transition.
We made YOU a guide to events related to the Amazon, its Indigenous peoples, and our climate. Please join us and our Indigenous partners this week to learn about our work, current challenges and strategies, and how you can support the Amazon and Earth Defenders.
