Friend,

Too often these days, you can draw a straight line from the mega-wealthy buying political influence to the consequences affecting your everyday life.

Unfortunately, the chaos at the U.S. Postal Service is one sad example.

Before I share how we got here, you know I'm committed to shining a light on dark money and pay-to-play politics. This is exactly that, and we have to step up: Will you add your name to call for an end to pay-to-play politics right now?

Earlier this summer, the mail started slowing down for nearly everyone across the country. Here in Minnesota, mailboxes were actually being removed -- sorting machines were dismantled, and systems were changing right before a historic election in which many, many millions of Americans were planning to vote-by-mail AND were depending on the USPS to get them items they ordered while staying home amidst a pandemic.

Then it came out that Louis DeJoy, the new Trump-appointed Postmaster General and prolific GOP donor, pressured employees at his former company to donate to GOP candidates in return for bonuses. That's an illegal campaign finance violation.

But this is who Louis DeJoy is. It's also who President Trump is. These are two people who only see money, and how far it will get them -- and assume any potential consequences will be swept under the rug.

Your mail is missing or late because Louis DeJoy wants it that way. He got to make that decision because he made illegal campaign finance violations that put him in the GOP's favor. It's despicable.

I will continue to fight for what's right, and I hope you'll join me: Add your name next to mine to call for an end to pay-to-play politics in Washington, D.C.

Thank you,

Dean Phillips
