This past weekend we said goodbye to Justice Ruth Bader Gisburg. Our nation has lost a remarkable individual, a trailblazer, and a stalwart champion for so many just causes. Her lifetime of defending civil liberties is a living legacy we’re grateful for, as well as a profound loss that we mourn.
As a working mom who ran for office to challenge the “Old Boys’ Club” of Harrisburg, Justice Ginsburg’s example was a source of so much inspiration to me and to countless other women.
As we mourn, we must also act. We’re six week away from the most important Presidential election in our lifetimes. Meanwhile, women’s representation in the PA General Assembly still accounts for just one fourth. I can think of no better way to honor her life and immeasurable legacy.
And so, we fight on with the memory of Justice Ginsburg forever in our hearts.
