Dear John,

This week marks the 3 year anniversary of Hurricane Maria slamming into the
islands of Puerto Rico, killing thousands of people and leaving devastation
in its path. Last month marked the 15 year anniversary of Hurricane Katrina
devastating the Gulf South, displacing so many and ravaging an entire
region.

As Climate Week gets underway for some, and the climate crisis becomes ever
more pervasive, our communities understand that climate disasters will
continue to grow in size, displacing hundreds of thousands of people from
their homes and endangering their health and wellbeing. We know that a Just
Transition from these types of disasters cannot wait and MUST come from
those on the frontlines of the crisis, those who are building power and
creating solutions that are just for us all. YOUR SUPPORT OF THEM IS
CRITICAL NOW MORE THAN EVER.

This Climate Week, will you stand in solidarity with CJA members on the
frontlines?

ON SOCIAL MEDIA, SHOW SUPPORT AND SOLIDARITY TO THOSE in California,
Oregon, Washington, Alabama, Louisiana, Florida, Mississippi, and North
Carolina who have been, and continue to be, affected by the wildfires &
climate disasters spreading through the Western part of the country and the
Gulf South. Their social media handles are below. You can also connect to

Historic CJA Member Victories & Leadership

CJA MEMBERS AND GREEN NEW DEAL NETWORK MEMBERS JOINED 81 CONGRESSIONAL
SPONSORS earlier this month virtually and on Capitol Hill to deliver the
Transform, Heal, and Renew by Investing in a Vibrant Economy (THRIVE )
Agenda [58]. This resolution aims to create a new vision to revive our
economy while addressing these interlocking crises of climate change,
racial injustice, public health, and economic inequity.
