Hi John,
Unlike conservative states that prioritize balanced budgets, rainy day funds, and fiscal responsibility, liberal-led Illinois failed so miserably to manage their money that the Governor is calling to cut 5% of each state agency’s budget this fiscal year and 10% for next year.
Every state agency is going to have fewer funds to supply essential services like police, infrastructure, and education – all services that ensure a high quality of life. Instead, Illinois, incapable of fiscal responsibility, is attempting to strong-arm the federal government into providing a bailout.
Illinois is one of the top 10 least tax friendly states in the country – despite all the taxes, they still couldn’t manage their money well enough to do what American households are expected to do: create an emergency savings account to prepare for the worst.
Sincerely,
Casey Dietrich
Deputy Executive Director
