Hi John,
It’s been a challenging year, and we’re all looking for ways to create a better future. That’s why we’re so excited to share with you that Ai-jen Poo, Director of NDWA, and Alicia Garza, co-founder of #BlackLivesMatter and Director of Strategy and Partnerships at NDWA, have launched the second season of their Sunstorm podcast!
This season couldn’t come at a better time — it will cover topics such as racial justice and civic engagement, as well as intergenerational wisdom, self-care, and mental health.
Not familiar with Sunstorm? It’s an audio salon hosted by Ai-jen Poo and Alicia Garza, where they talk to their friends and sheroes about how women can stay powerful and joyful while living with all of the uncertainty and chaos being thrown our way.
Season 2 is all about finding your lane and discovering how YOU can make a difference, starting now. Episode 1 features soccer star Megan Rapinoe who’s using her platform to champion causes like equal pay for women, racial justice, and civic engagement. In episode 2, comedian Jenny Yang explains why she left labor organizing to become a performer -- and how she’s still doing the work by telling stories, organizing through shows, and turning despair into creativity.
We’re dealing with a global pandemic, economic challenges, and a national reckoning around race. It’s easy to feel rudderless during these uncertain and unprecedented times. Sunstorm’s conversations are designed to help us find a center from which we can move, and aims to helps us each identify what we can do to make the most impact within the context of our lives. You don’t want to miss it.
Thank you for all that you do.
