John,
Hatch Act violations threaten the integrity of our democracy. Corruption in federal contracting wastes taxpayer dollars and robs people of much-needed resources. Politicization of the Justice Department advances the president’s racism and personal interests.
These issues may have only made headlines recently, but they’re abuses that CREW has been working to expose—and fight back against—for years. We believe that it is possible for a government to benefit the people, not just the wealthy and well-connected. Unfortunately, that’s not the kind of government we have right now.
President Trump continues to set a new low for corruption, self-dealing and manipulating the government to benefit his own interests, but the weaknesses he’s exposed in our laws and government existed before him. That’s why CREW is working tirelessly to expose wrongdoing, taking legal action to hold violators accountable, and pushing for reform—and we’ll be doing it for as long as it takes.
But that long-term fight requires significant resources. Sustaining supporters are a key part of those resources—monthly donors allow us to plan ahead and continue the fight for the long haul. That’s why a generous donor has offered to match the first 3 months of all new monthly contributions made between now and the end of the month, up to $24,000 total—they know how important ongoing support is to our work. Will you make a matched monthly donation now?
As a special thank you, on Thursday, October 1st, I’ll be holding a briefing call with our sustaining supporters and answering questions about CREW’s recent work and what we have planned for the coming months. I hope you’ll consider becoming a sustaining monthly donor—we need your support more than ever, because the fight for truly accountable government is one we can’t afford to cut short.
Thank you,
Noah Bookbinder
