I have an important update about Xochitl's race: A new poll shows my friend Xochitl Torres Small has a razor-thin lead in the polls, putting her toss-up race for re-election within the margin of error.

This race is going to be very close--just like it was when she won in 2018. Xochitl's opponent and Republican big money groups are fighting tooth and nail to unseat her and turn New Mexico's 2nd District red:

President Trump endorsed Xochitl's opponent.
The NRCC launched TV ads falsely attacking Xochitl.
The Gun Owners of America spent tens of thousands of dollars to boost Xochitl's opponent.

I know Xochitl -- she was an organizer on my first Senate campaign and then worked on my Senate office. I knew she was a great leader then, and she's a great leader now as congresswoman of New Mexico's 2nd.

Xochitl is a proven champion for our environment, health care, and workers, and she's been invaluable in our fight against the pandemic and to secure critical resources for New Mexicans.
