Today, Tania* is a bright 8th grader who loves to dance and dreams of pursuing it professionally. But Tania hasn’t always been free to dance, dream or even move as she pleased.
13-year-old Tania and her 15-year-old sister Ahana* had both been trafficked by their own mother. Ahana was the first to be taken around their city and sold to private customers.
After she was rescued by IJM and local authorities, she voiced her deepest fear: that her sister would be next. To her horror, her worst nightmare did come true.
After a year of vigilant searching, IJM and law enforcement partners finally found Tania — and reunited her with her sister. Together at last, they are thriving in their aftercare home, where they continue to receive ongoing counseling and care.
This all happened because of Freedom Partners who are deeply passionate about seeing God’s justice done — all the way from rescue to restoration. Now Tania, who was once in fear for her life, can dream of dancing and express the fullness of her freedom.
John, for every Ahana freed, there’s a Tania still hidden. Will you join me in committing to find every last child, woman and man trapped in violence?
