Friends,

This weekend, we lost an American icon — but her lasting memory will not be erased.

Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg was known for her tenacious efforts in feminism and civil rights. She dedicated her outstanding career to fighting for women and championing justice. Referred to fondly by the public as RBG, she inspired so many, including myself, to challenge discrimination and break barriers.

Her last dying wish was that her Supreme Court vacancy not be filled until after we have a new president. And I will do everything I can to make sure that this request is honored.

As we mourn the loss of a remarkable woman who paved the way for so much progress in this country, we must carry on her life's mission of empowering the marginalized and demanding equality for every American.
