John — another week, more embarrassing moments for the President of
the United States.
First: Donald Trump tweeted out a FALSE claim that
Hurricane Dorian was going to hit Alabama.
Then: Outrage ensued because the President was
tweeting out misinformation regarding the path of the storm, putting
lives at risk.
Next: To back up his false claim, the White House
released a video where Trump held up an outdated projection model of
the hurricane that was altered with a
sharpie to show that the path would include parts of the
Florida Panhandle and Alabama.
And then: President Trump CONTINUED to double down
on his tweet by going on unhinged Twitter rants demanding an apology
from the media.
The reality: The South Eastern coast of the
United States is dealing with a hurricane and the President of the
United States is more focused on protecting his shallow ego.
In times of crisis, the American people need to know they have a
leader they can count on for accurate information. And while it may
seem funny that he is going to great lengths to defend himself,
Trump’s actions on Twitter have real world consequences,
and spreading misinformation about storms can cost people their
lives.
This is just another example of why our movement is so important —
the American people deserve a president they can depend on in a time
of crisis.
As Hurricane Dorian continues to its path up the East Coast, Bill
and everyone at Team Weld are keeping those who are impacted in their
thoughts and prayers.
