This is an exclusive monthly newsletter for Carolyn's top supporters to stay up-to-date on the campaign. If you want to finish the job with Carolyn and flip GA-7 blue, you can donate here: [link removed] [[link removed]] Friends,

It’s back to school season! My dog Millie and I loved getting back into the routine of walking my son Nathan to the bus stop in the morning and hearing about the big things happening in the 2nd grade. After the bus leaves I hit the campaign trail- hearing from voters, volunteers, and supporters about what’s important to them here in Georgia’s 7th!

I am honored that Ambassador Young gave our campaign his formal endorsement. He was appointed by President Carter to serve as the first African American United States Ambassador to the United Nations.

Thanks to Ambassador Young for hosting an African American Church Leaders Listening Session with us. It was an honor to hear from you and from church leaders across the district.

EVENTS
LABOR DAY PICNIC
We had a great labor day picnic hosted by the Atlanta-North Georgia Labor Council. Thanks to unions we have weekends, a 40 hour work week, and a vibrant middle class. The picnic was a great way to celebrate organizing and our union roots.

GWINNETT COUNTY DEMOCRATS
I had a great time joining Gwinnett County Democrats for coffee and conversation! We had a lively discussion about the importance of turning out voters in 2020. We also heard about other huge and important issues like election protection, health care, climate change and turning out the youth vote!

287(G) PROGRAM MEETING
Thanks to Commissioner Marlene Fosque for hosting a community engagement discussion on the impact of the 287(g) program. We live in one of the most vibrant and diverse communities in the country and immigration is a big part of that. That why it's clear to me that by being one of only 90 counties in America participating in 287(g) program, the leaders in Gwinnett are putting us on the wrong side of history.

Using local police to enforce national immigration policy creates serious conflicts - treating immigrants like criminals makes them withdraw from our community, avoid using local businesses, and avoid reporting crimes. This policy makes us less safe, but more importantly, it is not how we treat our neighbors and these aren’t Georgia values.

FAIR FIGHT 2020 LAUNCH
I’ve been a longtime admirer of Stacey Abrams and was honored to receive her endorsement last cycle. She’s doing incredible, hard work making sure your voice is heard at the polls. I was thrilled to join her at the Fair Fight 2020 launch.

It didn’t go unnoticed that Stacey launched her 20 state initiative with a kick off at Annistown Elementary – the site of some of the most egregious problems with voting here in Gwinnett County. I met patriots like Karen Lewis who last year waited over 4 hours to vote (starting at 7 AM!!). Meanwhile one third of absentee ballots thrown out in the state came out of Gwinnett County (here in Georgia’s 7th district).
[link removed] [[link removed]] [link removed] [[link removed]] We heard you loud and clear! A few weeks ago, we sent out a call to action for you to tell us your top issues and policy priorities. We wanted to know where you stand on climate action, common sense gun safety regulations, and access to affordable, quality healthcare, among other issues.

While all these issues are critical, here are some that folks ranked as being top of mind:

[[link removed]] The Washington Post ranked our race one of the top 10 battleground House contests in the country! This kind of pressure and high stakes is nothing new for Team Bourdeaux — we’ve been under the spotlight before and upended everyone’s expectations.
