Dear John,

Tomorrow night is a big moment in this campaign: the first televised Leaders' debate. These debates are the time to put the candidates for Prime Minister to the test, and ask them their views on a range of issues - and in recent years, they’ve provided some pretty big moments in elections. We can’t wait to see Jacinda Ardern take on Judith Collins, and put forward our positive, future-focused plan for recovering from COVID and building New Zealand back even better.

In advance of the debate, we’re going to be running two short new ads on TV and online. But we’re keen to run even more of them than we currently have planned on Facebook and YouTube, so voters can go into the debate tomorrow knowing what is at stake this election and with a sense of what they can expect from Jacinda and the team if they’re reelected in October.

Running those ads, of course, costs money. I’m proud that we’re running an efficient, carefully managed campaign, and we’ve set aside a digital advertising budget which we know will be useful.

But every extra dollar we spend could help convince another voter to vote Labour this election - and that in turn increases our chance of again forming government. <[link removed]>

So John, are you able to donate today, and help us run more digital versions of our two new ads in the build up to tomorrow’s first Leaders' debate? <[link removed]>

YES, I’LL CHIP-IN TO RUN THESE ADS <[link removed]>Thank you. Together, we’ve already done so much this campaign - but these big set-piece moments really can make a difference come Election Day.

You can tune in to the debate on TVNZ 1 at 7pm, and our campaign team will be posting on social media before, during and after the event - so if you’re not already, make sure you follow our Twitter page <[link removed]> here, and like our Facebook page <[link removed]> here.

Thanks,

Hayden Munro

P.S. You can check out the new ads here <[link removed]> and here. <[link removed]>

P.P.S. Every $50 donated will get our ads in front of around another 5,000 people - so if you can make a donation to help, please do so by clicking here. <[link removed]>

A short note on donations:

We have a plan to keep New Zealand moving, and it’s already underway. But to keep rolling out that plan beyond October's election, Labour needs to win enough seats to be able to return to government.

John, we’re proud to be a truly people-powered Party, and it’s only because of the generosity of thousands of supporters like you chipping in what you can that we’re going to be able to run a winning campaign.

If you can, please click the button below to make a donation to our campaign fund today so together, we can keep New Zealand moving.
