I’m working hard every day -- sharing my vision for a better Iowa -- in every corner of the state.
I participated in the March For Our Lives “Back to School” Town Hall focusing on the gun violence epidemic — talking with concerned parents and students on the importance of passing common-sense gun policies and what I’ll do in the Senate to ensure efforts to end gun violence doesn’t get swept under the rug.
I celebrated with LGBTQ friends at Pride Fest in Waterloo, spent time registering voters at the Iowa State Fair and did the unforeseen -- one of my staffers and I helped a couple whose barn was on fire after leaving an event in Decorah, IA. Don’t worry -- everything was salvaged and no one was hurt. A big thank you to the Decorah Fire Department and the Mabel Volunteer Fire Department for responding so quickly.
And with the presidential race ramping up, it’s hard not to run into a candidate or two on the trail. In fact, it’s making things interesting — providing me ample opportunity to hear from even more Iowans, and to learn more about how our Democratic leaders are advancing important issues like climate change, health care, immigration, gun violence and more.
September is already shaping up to be another busy month, and I’m looking forward to hearing stories from more Iowans, listening to their concerns and sharing my bold vision.
On to September,
Eddie
