Hi John,
These are challenging times -- many Pennsylvanians are worried about how they are going to make ends meet and keep themselves and their families safe during this public health crisis. And with the 2020 general election right around the corner, I know many are also worried about how they’ll be able to exercise their right to vote.
If you’re concerned about voting, I’ve got good news for you: Pennsylvania voters can now vote by mail without needing a reason for receiving a mail-in ballot.
Unfortunately, other states lack this same level of access. I believe that every voter in every state should have the chance to vote this November without risking their health or putting loved ones at risk in the middle of a pandemic.
That’s why I support the implementation of a nationwide vote-by-mail procedure.
But the president and the GOP are working against us. President Trump, despite voting by mail himself, has called the process “horrible,” “corrupt,” and “dangerous.” John, my team, my family, and I all voted by mail in this year’s primary. The process was easy, secure, and accessible.
The fact is that mail-in-ballots increase voter turnout -- these GOP attacks on VBM are just another attempt at suppressing the vote.
With just 44 days until the election, we’re running out of time to ensure states can receive the funding they need to get ballots to voters. That’s why I need you to step up immediately to demand our leaders fund vote-by-mail procedures now.
