Yesterday, the team behind Pod Save America raised an eye-popping $17 million for Democratic candidates running to flip the Senate. That’s a huge amount of money that will no doubt have an impact.

Unfortunately, Mississippi wasn’t included on Pod Save America’s donation form yesterday.

We’re just wondering, you know, why does the Democratic establishment keep ignoring Mississippi, a state with a majority of Black voters, and a Black man running to make history this November?

Pundits will claim this race isn’t competitive, but the truth is, Mike Espy is within 5 points of defeating Confederate Cindy Hyde-Smith. We can win this.

If Mike had been included on that fundraising page yesterday, our campaign would have raised enough resources this weekend to fund the rest of our Get Out the Vote efforts to defeat Senator Cindy Hyde-Smith, the worst fundraiser in the Senate. It would have taken us across the finish line in November.

But until Democratic elites stop gate-keeping resources, ignoring Black voters, and overlooking the South, we’re counting on you, like never before.

Unfortunately, we have seen Democratic party elites overlooking history-making moments time and time again.

No one believed Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg would win so many cases, advance women’s rights, and change the course of history.
