Dear friends,

Like you, when we heard the news that legendary Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg passed away, we were devastated.

Justice Ginsburg was a force for justice, and she worked her entire career to protect the rights of all American citizens, especially the most vulnerable. RBG was a protector of freedom, a champion for gender equality, and an advocate for marginalized communities on the court.

We have lost a giant and we are heartbroken, but we are not alone. We will mourn her, we will remember her incredible legacy, and then we will get back to work. She has passed us the torch, and we will not let her down.

We will fight everyday to protect her legacy. We need more women at those decision-making tables -- more women judges, more women in state legislatures, more women in Congress and a woman in the White House.

There is a Hebrew saying when a loved one dies, "May her memory be a blessing." In this case, may her memory be a revolution.

Sincerely,
A'shanti F. Gholar

Emerge is a national organization working to recruit, train, and get Democratic women elected across the country, and we are so grateful to have you on our team. Our alums are strong voices for Democratic values — and they are working to bring their values up and down the ballot to fight for working families. They are fighting for critical issues that affect our communities like the environment, accessible and affordable healthcare, social justice and education equity. We need more alums fighting for us across the country.

Email is the best way for us to keep you informed about what’s happening with our work. You may notice that we send a lot of emails asking for your support—that’s because we win when everyone does what they can to help. Our organization depends on thousands of actual people who care about our democracy and want to see positive change in our communities and across our country by building power through investing in Democratic women.
