John xxxxxx,

On Friday night, Brooklyn lost a favorite daughter with the passing of Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg.

Justice Ginsburg left America a much better place than the country she inherited. She was a living legend in more ways than one, and our entire country is mourning a great loss.

Her entire career, Justice Ginsburg was a brilliant champion for gender, racial, and social justice. We can thank Justice Ginsburg for countless broken barriers. She was a trailblazer for women in more ways than one, and after serving our country for decades, the Supreme Court has lost a legendary giant.

A lot of people are caught up in a spiral of grief and fear. I understand people's fears when we think of what this means for the future of our democracy. But we must stay strong, John xxxxxx, and fight harder than ever before to get this country on track.

We need to keep fighting for the people, as Justice Ginsburg would have wanted us to. Rest in power, Justice Ginsburg. You will always be remembered in our hearts as one of Brooklyn's finest.

Together,

Hakeem
