Friend, the 2020 election is already underway. I cast my ballot on Friday, and tens of thousands of Americans have also done so in a growing number of states.

But that's not stopping Republicans from insisting on a rapid confirmation process for a new right-wing Supreme Court nominee (after they blocked President Obama's 2016 Supreme Court nominee for nine months). Donald Trump is urging a vote "without delay," and Senator Lindsey Graham, chairman of the Judiciary Committee, has said he'll support any effort to move forward.

Ramming a nominee through the Senate before the American people's voices are heard shows not only Senate Republicans' hypocrisy but also their disdain for Ruth Bader Ginsburg's legacy and the integrity of the Supreme Court. I told you yesterday that we need to show Republicans that there will be political consequences for this, and today I'm putting that pledge into action.

Lindsey Graham is in the fight of his political life this year. A poll this past week had him exactly tied at 48% with his Democratic challenger, Jaime Harrison. There is incredible grassroots energy right now for Democrats all across the country, and we need to harness that energy to win the close races.
