John--

This weekend we have been mourning the passing of Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, one of the all time most consequential justices of the Supreme Court.   Born in Brooklyn, she taught at Rutgers Law School in New Jersey.  She became only the second woman picked for the Court and became a leader in decisions supporting women's rights, LGBTQ rights and voting rights among many others.  Ginsburg is only of only 8 Jewish justices to serve on the Highest Court.   She will be dearly missed by all.

We should take our focus and work over the next roughly 45 days for causes and candidates who stand for what she stood for.

1)  Donate to the Morris County Democrats and help us fund our get out the vote activities. Join our event with Senator Booker this Wednesday night where we will be discussing, among other things, the future of the Supreme Court.  The event will take place at 5:45pm and is $100 per person and $75 for chairman's club members.  Follow here to purchase your ticket.

2)  Support the next generation of female leaders such as Rupande Mehta for State Senate, Darcy Draeger for State Assembly and Cary Amaro for Freeholder.  They are all on the ballot this fall in competitive races and could use our financial support.

3)  Finally, our women's caucus is holding a candlelight vigil tonight at 6:00pm outside the Morris County Courthouse in Morristown to honor the legacy of RBG. (Masks and social distancing required)

Thank you!
