Joe Biden’s national lead is gradually shrinking. A new poll from Suffolk University now places Biden at a 7-point advantage over Donald Trump, but this lead is much narrower than the double-digit lead he held in August, following a similar trend seen in key battleground states.
This is cause for alarm. Trump is gaining on Biden with less than two months left until Election Day, and there is still a long list of possible October surprises -- like Trump announcing a COVID vaccine or a potential change in jobs numbers -- that could boost the president’s odds even further.
We need to drum up enthusiasm for Joe Biden and Kamala Harris, and we need to do it now -- before these poll numbers get any worse.
