A new Monmouth University poll found a dangerous shrinkage in Joe Biden’s advantage over Donald Trump in Pennsylvania -- one of the traditionally blue states that flipped in 2016 and gave Trump the election. According to the poll, Biden now leads Trump by just 4 points among registered voters, down from the 13 point lead he held in July.
This is cause for alarm. Trump is gaining on Biden in Pennsylvania and nationally with less than two months left until Election Day, and there are still a long list of possible October surprises -- like Trump announcing a COVID vaccine or a potential change in jobs numbers -- that could boost the president’s odds even further.
We need to drum up enthusiasm for Joe Biden and Kamala Harris, and we need to do it now -- before these poll numbers get any worse.
