This is a really hard email to write.

I’m desperately short of my weekly fundraising goal.

In just 9 hours I will be forced to cut my television ads and digital outreach budget.

Quite frankly, I will lose this race if I need to make even slight budget cuts. I’m humbly asking you to chip in to save my Democratic campaign  >>

I know my opponents' special interest donors and dark money stacks the cards against us. But I wasn’t raised to give up when things get hard.

My parents defied the odds when they came to this country as immigrants.

My mom defied the odds when she raised my siblings and me after my father passed away much too young.

I defied the odds when I won this Republican stronghold by just 862 votes in 2018.

I also know that no one makes it on their own. I won because grassroots donors like you refused to surrender to the GOP’s power.

Now I’m asking for your help to defy the odds once again.

Will you chip in $5 to close the budget gap now?
