Friday, we lost a titan and a true champion for justice.

A trailblazer with an unmatched legal mind, Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg fought — and won — countless fights for women’s equality. On the Court, she was a powerful voice for justice, whether in the majority or in dissent. Her advocacy, her spirit, and her service opened doors for women and girls across the country. For that, I will always be grateful.

I went to bed on Friday with a shattered heart and a broken spirit. But yesterday, I woke with a sense of determination and a renewed drive to honor Justice Ginsburg’s legacy.

The fights that lie ahead of us are going to be tough. The best way — the only way — to persevere is by facing the future with the same courage and determination that Justice Ginsburg embodied for each of her 87 years.

The weeks in front of us are going to be some of the most consequential in our country’s history, and I hope that you find comfort and strength for the road ahead.
