Lizzie Pannill Fletcher for CongressLike Americans across the country, I am heartbroken as we mourn the death and celebrate the life of Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg.

A brilliant lawyer, she served us all on throughout her life on both sides of the bench. As an advocate and as a jurist, she was an unwavering champion for equality and justice who inspired and persuaded and empowered us.

While we are heartbroken over the magnitude of this loss and the uncertainty of the future without her on the Court, Justice Ginsburg's work and words live on. And they guide us now:

"Fight for the things that you care about, but do it in a way that will lead others to join you."
- Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg

She dedicated her life to making the world a better place for all. And she did it with purpose, with reason, with argument that brought others to her view of the world that could be. She never tired. She never stopped.

Now, we must carry on her work -- for freedom, for equality, and for justice for all women and men -- and we must bring people along and persuade them to join us in this fight. We have much work to do in the weeks and months ahead. And because of her, I know we can.

Together, we can do anything,

Lizzie
