John -
Yes, I'm writing again about the action of our DC Poor People's Campaign tomorrow in front of Mitch McConnell's home on Capitol Hill.
With the developments of the last few days, especially the passing of Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, it has become even more urgent to expose Mitch McConnell's power, hypocrisy, and lies and to show him - and the American people - that we won't be silent anymore!
The Poor People's Campaign caravans at his DC home and Kentucky offices tomorrow - Monday, September 21 from 3:00 to 4:30 pm - will shine a bright national light on his abuse of power in stonewalling much needed relief from the COVID-19 pandemic and his obscene insistence in rushing to fill Justice Ginsburg's Supreme Court seat before the curtain comes down on January 20, 2021.
Monday is also the day when we will learn whether the police officers who killed Breonna Taylor in Kentucky will be criminally charged and held responsible for their actions - just at the same time as our sisters and brothers in the Kentucky Poor People's Campaign are massing around his six offices throughout the state.
The Poor People's Campaign actions in DC and Kentucky tomorrow afternoon are a unique opportunity to stand up in solidarity with all those across the country who understand now, as never before, the importance of shining the bright light of public shame on Mitch McConnell.
Folks are still signing up for the DC caravan at bit.ly/ppccaravans. We're expecting good media coverage.
Because we're expecting a strong turnout, we still need volunteer marshals to help manage the flow of the event.
Please consider volunteering as a marshal on Monday. You may do so by clicking here.
There will be an additional training for marshals this evening (Sunday, September 20) at 7:00 pm. Once you've registered as a marshal, you'll receive the Zoom link separately for the training.
Forward together - not one step back!
