I want to take a moment to honor the memory of Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg and her unparalleled legacy.

Justice Ginsburg was one of our nation’s greatest legal minds. Long before she was a Supreme Court Justice, her fight for gender equality had already secured her place in history as an American icon.

Thinking back on taking my daughter to see the film about her life and legacy a few years ago is a sharp reminder of how her fight for gender equality and justice for everyone has shaped the America kids are growing up in.

But now we’re facing the distinct possibility that Donald Trump and Mitch McConnell will rush a new Justice through confirmation. This is wrong.

Join me in calling on the president and the GOP-led Senate NOT to move forward with confirmation on a new Justice before Inauguration Day. The implications of this decision will impact our nation for decades. We must stand together now to stop them from disrupting the balance of our highest court:

Truly, the best way we can honor Justice Ginsburg’s dedication to our democracy is by protecting it. I am committed to doing whatever it takes to ensure that our elections are fair and our laws are upheld in the weeks and months ahead.

My thoughts are with the entire Ginsburg family, as well as every American who looked to her for inspiration in the fight for justice — myself included.
